I grew up surrounded by the wild heather, hawks and mineral-clear waters of the Lake District, before coming south for university and work. I spent my twenties in the film industry, but at thirty realised I wanted to do more with my life. Psychotherapy had always interested me, and I suspected it might provide me with a meaningful profession to complement my writing. My hunch was right. After the best part of another decade retraining, two years ago I was able to go part time. I now relish the gloriously freed-up hours in the company of words and other creative projects, including the first stirrings of a move into interior design. You'll also frequently find me in Italy, the inspiration for my blog – Vivere Ad Alta Voce.
